Our mission is to assure safe and sanitary disposal of solid waste for district residents and to reduce reusable or renewable wastes from entering landfills within the District. This will be accomplished through the development of residential and industrial programs that educate, promote, provide, implement and improve recycling opportunities that will preserve landfill space now and into the future.

2011 District Newsletter
The District has worked hard these past few months putting together a newsletter that would not only educate, but show the residents what the District has been working on. Click below on each county for the newsletter.
WasteWise is a free, voluntary EPA program through which organizations eliminate costly municipal solid waste and select industrial wastes, benefiting their bottom line and the environment. WasteWise members can join as partners, endorsers, or both. Partners join to change their own behavior and track their own internal waste reduction efforts, while endorsers are state and local government agencies, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and businesses that help their members, clients, and constituents realize that reducing solid waste makes good business sense.
The District is providing new alternatives to managing your household hazardous waste. The Recycling & Reuse Guide is an easy-to-use, comprehensive guidebook that provides locations and outlets that will collect your household hazardous waste.
In lieu of having an Household Hazardous Waste Collection in 2010, the District has mailed a Recycling & Reuse Guide to every household in the District. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the District at 800-678-9839.
The recycling and reuse facilities listed in each guide below are the most current based upon our research (July 2010). The lists may change, so please contact the facility before dropping off materials to ensure that the facility is still operating.
