Outreach and Education
The District focuses on outreach and education for area civic groups, local governments and other populations of the District providing presentations and discussions on recycling, composting, conservation, waste reduction and natural resources. The services are free of charge and subject matter and presentation length can be altered to meet the educational needs for any age group.

Master Recycler Program
The Master Recycler Program offers recycling enthusiasts an in-depth study of recycling practices on in the grand scale and how it trickles down into our own community. Join us in this seven-week course learning from innovative leaders about various topics including recycling and landfill facility operations, reuse of local resources, food waste and composting, water quality and litter prevention, alternatives to household hazardous waste (HHW), and electronic waste.
Teacher Workshop
Join us for a day of exploration and discovery as we look at the growing problem of solid waste in schools and communities. We’ll dig into hands-on activities in recycling, waste management, and environmental awareness. This unique workshop includes a visit to the local landfill as well as a mine reclamation project site. You’ll gain effective teaching resources and skills to connect with your students on the issues surrounding solid waste. Cost is FREE and lunch is provided!
